5 Date Ideas That Cost Next to Nothing

Dating is hard enough without having to worry about impressing your significant other with money. The good news is that most people are not easily impressed with money. Simply showering your partner with attention is enough. If you really want to impress, try one or more of these nearly free ideas for date night. They will draw the two of you closer while going easy on the pocketbook.

Take a Photo Tour

Are there beautiful areas within your neighborhood or within your city that you can walk around? Go on a stroll through these places. While walking, stop to take pictures in especially beautiful areas. Have fun with it. Be goofy and cute. Take pictures of one another individually and some together. These will end up being keepsakes down the line should you become a serious couple.

Have an Indoor or Outdoor Picnic

Picnics are always romantic. They can be had outdoors on some romantic spot in the park or by the water. They can be held indoors in front of a cozy fireplace if the weather is bad. Be sure to bring bug repellent if having a picnic outdoors, and if having one indoors, consider lighting candles to help create a romantic atmosphere. Playing soft music in the background is also a nice touch.

Go Stargazing

A night out in the country with your significant other is always romantic. Put some blankets and pillows in the bed of the truck for ultimate comfort while gazing at the sky. Or, lay a blanket on the ground to watch a meteor shower. Do not forget to make a wish on the falling stars!

Have a Game Night

Games nights are fun. They provide an opportunity to be silly while enjoying the company of another. Any board game or card game will work. Make up games, if necessary. Play a sort of truth or dare game in which you each write questions on cards. Place the cards into a bowl and then take turns drawing questions to answer. Be sure to keep the questions fun and lighthearted.

Make Dinner Together

Making dinner together is an excellent way to draw two people closer together. It involves cooperation and perhaps a little play. Plus, it allows ample time for general discussion. Make a meal as simple or as complicated as desired, so long as there is room for both people to participate in the making of it.
